In today’s episode Nicky P and Lizzie address a question that Nicky began asking while reading The Confidence Gap by Russ Harris: Is Self Esteem Good? It seems heretical to ask the question especially when both Nicky and Lizzie have struggled with debilitating social anxiety their whole lives, but the question wouldn’t leave Nicky alone. So here he is with his best friend to hash out the implications of this question on their own lives and perhaps what it means for little Erma. Does the term need thrown out with the bathwater baby or is there something else that might make more sense to use? Does Lizzie think Nicky is a moron for even asking the question.
