I’m taking a few minutes in the midst of writing for the Freedom Song 365 project I work on with a couple friends to drop in a daily post. The project has had me listening to a bunch of Twelve Foot Ninja & NOFX since last night. It’s fascinating the types of musicians that at the very least pay lip service to liberty and the values voluntaryists hold.

The Plan by NOFX seemes especially hypocritical knowing what we know about Fat Mike. Manufacture Of Consent by Twelve Foot Ninja gives us a nod to Noam Chomsky a socialist who every now and then manages to see political problems clearly. Sadly his prescriptions would most assuredly be worse than the disease they intend to cure.

Ultimately I’m always fascinated by the hypocrisy this topic illuminates. The other side of the aisle is on point about as much. Claiming to be interested in freedom but demanding your patronage through organizations that rob you and redistribute same as the socialists on the other side.

Both demand you support their particular socialism. Be it the police/military on the right or Medicare For All on the opposite side. Neither side seems willing or able to follow the incentives that are clearly visible. The best solution is to maximize freedom. It’s the one thing that no matter where you get more of it in the world it makes the most people better off. It’s cap on good it can do is limited only by the intervention into peaceful trade by those who wish to control your decisions. Sadly this is a truth I can’t unsee.
